Outfits to welcome the Autumn.

Soup of the Day: The Black Oxfords.

After weeks (or months?) for abandoning the "Soup of the Day" album, finally I have some time to sit down and update the album. However, my "personal photographer" is really busy to hold a camera for me, hence the only-shoes-and-part-of-the-skirts pictures are taken lately, there are also few the-only-half-of-the-tops-with-the-awkward-face pictures tho'.

Anyway, here are few outfit I wore weeks ago. I'm really into simple but something kind of mood lately. I wear pleated skirt quite often too, to act like a lady :) I bought one black Topshop oxford lace-up shoes for casual daily wear, it goes well with almost everything, and most importantly, with very reasonable price, hooray!

Next, I just want to say it again, I am really a Monki freak! I realise most of my stuffs are from Monki. Everytime my friend kindly giving me compliments about my outfit, I would go like "It's from Monki" until one time she said, "Monki again?" Yea, Monki again.

So the below heels / skirts are from Monki.

Soup of the Day: Quiet.

And then, finally something not from Monki. Below is a one-piece shirt from COS. I love its simplicity. Clean and stiff, with a collar, is perfect for some formal occasion but not looking too serious.
Then, I wore the beautiful unicorn necklace from my beloved friend as a little touch-up :) Not too much.

Soup of the Day: Unicorn Dream.

Before ending the post, I just want to share some excited news that LV has announced their new creative director - Nicolas Ghesquière the former Balenciaga designer! Looking forward to see the next show! Anyway, I want to share these interesting words by DailyMail online describing this whole situation - "It's fashion musical chairs" - can't agree more.

Chanel Spring 2014 : Cute Socks / Shoes and Ombre Clutch.

My picks: Chanel Spring 14 clutch x Celine Pre-fall 13 platforms.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Chanel Spring 2014. However, there are few things I love about for that show, which are the built-in socks heels (so cute!!) and then the ombre clutches with that solid double-C sign in front, it feels abit Lego-brick-ish to me, and definitely a statement to a simple outfit.

So I think, why not trying to pair it with some outfits (in illustration way)? Lol. Hence there goes my picks for the autumn trend.

Modern Knit by Xiao Li.

I am really in love with this grad collection by Xiao Li, who is originally from Qing Dao China and finished her study at Royal College of Art. She also won the ITS Diesel Award this year. It is very important that she could strike the balance between innovative and practicality, her pieces are wearable yet very creative by mixing the traditional knit with the modern texture, creating this gigantic puffy cut, she also said that the simplicity and architectural cutting is mainly inspired the famous Balenciaga, her favorite designer. Can't wait to see more from this very talented young designer.

Souces: Here and there

Viktor & Rolf Fall Couture 2013 - The mindfulness

What I love the most about the V&R latest show is their finale. Love how they cover up all the models with the huge cloak. Totally show the "mindfulness" concept.

Inner Child.

Purple sparkling nails with DIY kiddish necklace as headband x simple DIY LBD.

It's time for a quick sum up again cause I think I have abandoned this blog for too long. I really need to keep myself a habit to blog. Anyway, I didn't have too many outfits to post lately, as I just finished my exams and coming up with two design deadlines. Busy! But, well, c'est la vie! Isn't it?

Something to mention is, Topshop is finally opened in Hong Kong! I was so excited to go to the opening, but at last I didn't because they started to queue 3 and more hours before the opening! So, I went there few days later and it was still crowded! Long queue outside the fitting room, I was lazy to try on any clothings. Hence I got this nails package which doesn't need fitting! I am always a big fan of Topshop Nails! I always ask my friend to bring me this when they visit Hong Kong from Malaysia/UK.

Beautiful colours and glitters, aren't they? I am addicted to glitters lately, it makes me feel so fairy-ish and wakes up my inner child immediately, well, my inner child is pretty strong and tough who lives happily inside me (sometimes, she ran away when things gone slightly wrong, but yea she is a tough girl who comes back after cries). Talking about this, I thought of a quote "Creative adult is a child who survives" (something like that... hmm.. I forgot where I got this from).

I am really into fairy-tale and dreamy stuffs. So for the coming design submission which we need to create a garment with recycle theme, I have this sketched.

My design sketch, I titled it Waking Dream

I will create this look with used stuffs. Hope my new baby could be born smoothly tho.
At first I was quite worried about the boring look of the dress, honestly, I do not know how to create dramatic stage costume for a show because I can't imagine someone would like to wear it when I myself wouldn't want to. Yes, I love haute couture and I definitely love Mcqueen and CDG and other great designers who do beautiful dramatic show pieces. At the same time, I love some famous designers with more wearable collections like Lanvin and Jil Sander and others. So, when it comes to fashion show, I would really do something in between, trying to strike a balance. To be honest, I am just a beginner in fashion and do not know how to make those fine crafts, so I never could imagine me doing fine made couture. Yea, I just want to say I have been struggled alots from this point, and thankfully I have my man and some of my good friends who understand me and support me. One of my friend told me that I do not need to be creative as long as there is my personality in the design. This really means a lot to me. So I just gotta keep reminding myself to be sincere and be myself. Never try to be somebody else because you could never be exactly like that same person.

Alright, cut the craps.
Before ending this post, I would love to share this cute fairy-like inspiration from Lacy Barry, I first got addicted by the light bulbs headpiece when I was wondering in Pinterest, because my man and I were exactly having this same idea a month ago for the look with recycle theme as mentioned above. Anyway, I just felt excited to see the idea is actually doable.

Candyland Collection - the real pieces.

Finally, here is the pieces for my grad-show collection. Well, I am aware of that it looks kinda rough (exactly like a student's work), not professional enough, and also look a little bit boring (when I look back at these photos, I do feel boring. I guess we all are growing and improving each day, hence we'd see the flaws in our previous works).

My first ever collection - Candyland.

So, this is my final sketch of my collection for my grad show. This is what I've been busying on these months.

I titled it 'Candyland'. It's sweet like princess and fairy tale but also dull like the reality. If the life is hard and dark, then discover the bittersweet of it. There must be something.

We had good show last weekend. I'm blessed that I won the gold award for the small competition held by my school. I am honored that people love this. Anyway, there will be rematch and final on coming weekend. I don't hope for anything but do hope that things go smoothly and no mistake made. That's all. Thank you God for everything, for my parents loving me, for my man be there with me, for my friends supporting me, for my inspiration, for everything.

Well, pictures of the show will be posted after I settle with the coming show.

I'm in the flowery pond.

Another flower crown I did for my friend's pre-wedding shooting.
I have been staying in the secret garden lately and bathing in the tub with lots and lots of flowers, quite literally, no? Firstly, I had just finished the crowns for friends' wedding (though I heard a bad news that one of the crown was broken by the makeup artist during the bridal makeover. Anyway.) and also just done with the headpieces for the coming grad show (not flower crowns this time, will show picture later after the show). I am also quite easily attracted by flowers lately, they make me feel happy.

So I guess this post is just some random sharing about flowers I am dealing with lately and flowers I saw when I wondering around on streets, which inspired me at some point.

Could anyone please tell me the name of this cute creature?

I find this is an interesting culture here using cabbage in flower basket.

Did a simple Mother's Day image with the pictures I got from Pinterest and also with the help of  PS.

This is a cute DIY idea from buzzfeed.com

Off to bed. Gotta continue my work tomorrow. Grad show on coming Saturday! Streeeeeeesssed!

Lesia Paramonova waken up my inner child again.

Anyone who is following and reading my blog knows that I am obsessed with Lesia Paramonova. Everytime I look at the collections, old or new, I feel that I'm at the dreamland, everything seems possible. It makes me feel so happy like a kid. So here is the new collection of Lesia Paramonova, I wish I could wear one of them and walk into the strange woods and odd botanic gardens where could let the freaks be freaky and let the inner child lost in dream.

[Outfit] Soup of the Day: Nicole in the Wonderland x random daily life.

My friend reminded me that I seldom update about my Soup of the Day outfit album lately, and yes, I feel bad about not being persistent but I am just too busy preparing for my coming grad collection and for the flower crowns I've promised to make for 2 of my beloved friends' wedding.

Anyway, here is the little sum-up for the past few days of what I am up to. So there is the outfit I wore days ago. Casual simple black pullover with the vintage dreamy colour midi, the pattern feels like the free-movement of watercolour. We went for dinner after class and I saw this dreamy set-up by Daydream Nation, I felt like I walked into the wonderland! Love the mood and especially the pastel small houses done by Stickyline

Drawings by my man - [ here ] is his wonderland where he collects inspirations and shares his drawings and paintings.

Did I mention that I am in love with red lips lately? It goes well with casual outfit, especially black. It could add cool feminine touch easily to the simple basic outfit, or it could emphasize the drama for the dramatically exaggerate outfit.

And then, I bought the same pair of unicorn tights yesterday from RI by Carrie, exactly the same as the one I got long time ago. I met the designer and she is so kind. Love her new designs as well. Anyway, yea, call me freak. I would double everything I love in my closet if I could, just to avoid that I couldn't get them anymore if mine is broken, stolen, get caught in fire, or bitten by mouse, or it runaway from me the freak, perhaps? Whatever. I just love to stock up, that's my biggest problem too. Well, I have already stock up for those pair of shoes I am wearing. *wink*

And then, I also just finished one of the crowns I've promised to make, I hope the bride-to-be would feel happy about it.

Last but not least, since it's about dreamy wonderland for this post, I would love to end it with Anne Siems' artworks, it's so beautifully inspiring!
