Soup of the Day: The Black Oxfords.

After weeks (or months?) for abandoning the "Soup of the Day" album, finally I have some time to sit down and update the album. However, my "personal photographer" is really busy to hold a camera for me, hence the only-shoes-and-part-of-the-skirts pictures are taken lately, there are also few the-only-half-of-the-tops-with-the-awkward-face pictures tho'.

Anyway, here are few outfit I wore weeks ago. I'm really into simple but something kind of mood lately. I wear pleated skirt quite often too, to act like a lady :) I bought one black Topshop oxford lace-up shoes for casual daily wear, it goes well with almost everything, and most importantly, with very reasonable price, hooray!

Next, I just want to say it again, I am really a Monki freak! I realise most of my stuffs are from Monki. Everytime my friend kindly giving me compliments about my outfit, I would go like "It's from Monki" until one time she said, "Monki again?" Yea, Monki again.

So the below heels / skirts are from Monki.

And then, finally something not from Monki. Below is a one-piece shirt from COS. I love its simplicity. Clean and stiff, with a collar, is perfect for some formal occasion but not looking too serious.
Then, I wore the beautiful unicorn necklace from my beloved friend as a little touch-up :) Not too much.

Before ending the post, I just want to share some excited news that LV has announced their new creative director - Nicolas Ghesquière the former Balenciaga designer! Looking forward to see the next show! Anyway, I want to share these interesting words by DailyMail online describing this whole situation - "It's fashion musical chairs" - can't agree more.

[Outfit] Soup of the Day: Casual Day

Last time I learnt to sew my very first midi skirt, but not wearable as I was using really rough fabrics to sew as a draft and homework. Now, I finally made a wearable skirt and get to wear it out! It feels so good to wear the self-made skirt walking on streets. It is one of a kind on the street! Though it looks rough and casual, and it's just a simple round-table skirt. I guess at least I am making my another dream comes true? I always dream to make myself skirts and dresses! This is part of my reason to study fashion design.

[Outfit] Soup of the Day: The Magician's Dream.

As I previously mentioned, I am at the 7-day Journey with SHOPAME.com, so of course I would be wearing the amazing Ame heels. As predicted, I wore black again to match with the blue heels, however, this time I added a bit more creativity and fun! I decided to wear this gold party hat which was leftover from my man's birthday and, to be more creative and to look more awkward (yes I like to look like a weirdo sometimes, at least weirdo is having more fun than the normal one), I add this white rose on top (again a leftover, from the making of flower crown). 

I feel like I am like a magician, and at the same time The Little Prince (guess it's because of the rose). 

Besides, I intentionally paint my nails into this Barbie pink (it's named Daydream from Topshop, how romantic!), which was brought to me by my deary friend. For your information, Hong Kong doesn't have Topshop, urgh. Heard that it is coming soon tho'. Anyway. Then I put on this sweet pink blusher from NARS to match with the nails. My classmates thought I was drunk when I enter the classroom with the pink blush. How cute they are.

Because I am not really a high-heels person, I normally wear loafers or flatform, normally I mean like 95% of my life. So, I also took some picture of this outfit with my Monki shoes, as I think this quirky look fits well with it!

Soup of the Day: All That Glitters...

I attended the Amé opening event the night before with 2 of my friends, and I am so thankful that we received sponsor from Amé, which we could bring home one pair of the shoes from the shop to join the 7-day Journey with SHOPAME.com, any pair! Basically we need to style up the pair of shoes we chose and take our snapshots within the 7 days. It sounds extremely fun to me! By the way, it was a really hard choice to make, especially there are tons of beautiful footwear on the shelves! 

Anyway, I chose this pair of studded heels, which I think is slightly different from my usual style. I am  just thinking to challenge myself (a little bit tho') to wear something I am not usually comfortable at. I love rock n' roll, but I am not a fan of studs. I only have one pair of studded tights from Topshop before this bootie heels. I find the black studs matching well with this shade of blue, it looks a bit of rock n' roll and cool, yet not too tough. Just nice! So why not giving the studs a try? 

I realised that it is quite difficult to match the colour of the heels. I could only think of black, which could goes well with anything. However, I want to spice it up a little bit, so I added this glittering silver knit outerwear I bought long time ago.

Soup of the Day: Art and Literature.

We are so happy that the Eslite bookstore is opened in Hong Kong months ago, which is originally based in Taiwan. The bookstore normally close at 2 a.m. for most days, which is a really good news for us who would love to find somewhere to stay and wandering around at late night. 

That day, we went there and dined in at the Eslite Tea Room to celebrate the belated birthday of my man, then we started to stroll in the bookstore. We came to this small space where they show different artists artwork for different period. That day, this flowery work is exhibited, and we think it looks so good and fit for an outfit quick shot. I think the Chinese x Japanese-ish of the art-piece fitting well with my outfit, especially my new footwear. 

So, with all the literature and art, also the meal and dessert, we both are so satisfied and inspired!

[Outfit] Soup of the Day: Le Dimanche Après-midi

The weather was good yesterday, the Sunday afternoon. So, we went for a afternoon tea after the French class and had a little walk around the cafe after the tea as we have some time left before the movie, OZ the Great and Powerful (I would love to say that, the movie is so beautiful and magical! It's the typical Disney movie, with light and hope! Love it of course!). We came to this street with pretty boutiques and where not many people walking around, which is good for a quick shooting for the outfit. 

I wore a simple midi with black top and a pair of white loafers trying to bring out the french-ness mood for the French class, as I always did. With the huge scarf to warm me up, as I had the annoying nose allergy x flu yesterday. Anyway, I guess it's sometimes true that, less is more. Simple could be the best.

[Outfit] Soup of the Day: Lady-like. Not?

Yesterday, I decided to choose the mustard pencil midi which was lying peacefully in my closet for like months (Btw, pencil midi? Pencil skirt? What do you call this kind of skirt? I love the texture of the fabric. It's soft, casual yet could be quite lady-like, and it's with elastic waistband; easy come easy go. lol. ) Oh, and I definitely love the colour! Mustard-orangey? It looks really special, for me. There was black actually the time I bought this skirt, but I still prefer to go for something different (yea, I guess at least half of my closest is in black .. *yawning* )

And, my hair colour is surprisingly matching with the skirt! I never thought of that! Anyway, pair it with my vintage flowery blouse (not new, if you did follow my blog, I wore it before) and the white cardigan I got long time ago from Zara (sorry that one of the buttons was dropped out, ops. ) 

Well. That's all. I am actually blogging now with my little break from the making of the sketch-board, it's due tomorrow, but I am really sleepy right now. Hmm..

Finally here is a normal outfit post after the overdose of wedding posts. Before uploading my self designed wedding gown, here are some casual outfit photos I took weeks ago.

I love the scarf I just bought from Monki about month ago (yes, I realised that I am really a Monki freak.) Anyway, love the cute colours of the scarf, so I decided to go soft for the whole look. 

I match the vintage sheer flowery shirt with the flowery patterned knit-vest, both different flowery patterned white clothing looked quite odd together, but I like the strange-yet-kind-of-harmonious feeling  of the whole look. Maybe, I am the weird one.

[Oufit] Autumn is finally here!

The autumn comes late this year here, I could sweat even I am only wearing a thin knitwear in early November. I just started to feel chilly on last Saturday, and I thought: Finally...! The autumn is here!

So I finally could wear my thick knitwear/pullover! I love autumn/winter so much as I love layering outfits! I love mixing and matching my clothes and not getting sweat with thick layering of clothes.

The black huge scarf is one of my favourite item in my winter closet, I got it about 3 years ago from All Saints outlet! And I still love it even though I have added several new scarfs among these years. As I mentioned, I hardly throw my stuffs unless it's broken, especially those I really love, and I love many stuffs. So I ended up keeping everything I have bought since years ago. Sometimes I find that they are still adorable and totally wearable, and, you know, the secret is, I love the fact that you hardly could meet the awkward situation where you see everyone on the street wearing the same outfit as you when you are actually wearing the old seasoned items. *Grin* So my trick is matching the old seasoned item with the new season clothing and voila! You will have your very own style! 

So this time I have my old scarf, old boots, everything old except the silver shimmering pleated skirt I just bought week ago! Love the new skirt! However, the smaller sizes were sold out, so the skirt is a little bit unfit and I think the waist-line should be higher where the skirt could be a little bit shorter, guess I have to alter the waist size later. Hmmphh. 

We walked around on the streets that day after some wedding preparation as the weather is cool and nice, walking and taking pictures of everything we see everywhere. 

Anyway, yes, autumn is here! And very soon will be the winter's turn. I guess the weather is very unpredictable these days, we literally only have few days of autumn before it's turning into winter this year. Weird.
