[Outfit] Soup of the Day: Le Dimanche Après-midi

The weather was good yesterday, the Sunday afternoon. So, we went for a afternoon tea after the French class and had a little walk around the cafe after the tea as we have some time left before the movie, OZ the Great and Powerful (I would love to say that, the movie is so beautiful and magical! It's the typical Disney movie, with light and hope! Love it of course!). We came to this street with pretty boutiques and where not many people walking around, which is good for a quick shooting for the outfit. 

I wore a simple midi with black top and a pair of white loafers trying to bring out the french-ness mood for the French class, as I always did. With the huge scarf to warm me up, as I had the annoying nose allergy x flu yesterday. Anyway, I guess it's sometimes true that, less is more. Simple could be the best.

[Outfit] Keeping Romance Alive

I am so inspired by many bloggers that they have the whole look for their outfit posts, from head to toes, they won't neglect any small parts of them. They do their hair and they paint their nails to match their look. To be honest, I am a lazy person. I didn't normally do my hair and nails until I read the blogs and found that most of the bloggers do care about the whole look. 

Hence, I started to paint my nails. I started to take care of my hair as well instead of just matching the clothes  and bags. As I have this boring straight black hair, I try to 'decorate' my hair a little bit everytime I am dressing up; I am into headbands lately, be it flowery or not, or I would just simply clip my hair to the back and be a casual look. 

Every time I wear a headband, I feel that I am living in 50s. I likey! 

Yes, I am still wearing the headband from Tracy, as mentioned in my previous post. The colour of the headband is just lovely and it goes well with vintage look. By the way, for the latest information I got from her, the headband only costs around £1 or £2! Anyway, the main reason I wear it so often is because it is so easy to put on, I do not need to tie a scarf myself on my head, I just slipped it on and I am ready to go! 

The lace top is an old garment I found in my closet which I bought years ago in the UK (as I said, I try not to throw away my clothes, especially those with high potential! I would always find a way to mix and match the old pieces with my new stuffs). Anyway, it's actually a long top which I used to wear it as a dress with tights long time ago. However, I find that it looks good too to tuck in! (See, this is the kind of clothing that I would categorise it into the 'high potential' section). 

Lately, besides the hair, I also can't really leave the house without the accessories. I wear bracelets, as I always do, and I also figure out another way to wear the flowery. The bunch of flowers on the handle of my bag is actually the headband I made days ago (as shown here), I tied it onto the handle of the bag, and I think it looks as good as it is on the head! It makes me feel so summer-ish (I really hate the hot weather tho'). 

I just feel that the old lace top looks harmonious with the flowery. They both together bring the romance to the 50s-ish headband. 

My friends gave me a crochet art DIY box set as my birthday present! Love it so much and can't wait to get started.

[Outfit] L'étudiante

As mentioned earlier, I go to French class every Sunday at Alliance Française de Hong Kong. I love French and I love their culture as well. I love the dressing up and the style and the attitude of French people. I think most of those who love fashion would have that Paris dream. To be honest, I have never been to Paris; I went to places in Europe like Italy, Spain, Geneva, etc when I was studying in UK; but I haven't been to France once. I don't know why I have no such huge fantasy going there even I was already started taking up French course that time. Of course, now I regret that I have never been to France, I regret that I refused joining my parents to France when they visited me in the UK. 

So, for every week, I try to dress up to class! It is not only learning the language but also learning their culture right? I always imagine that a French lady would dress up even she is only going to a grocery. To respect the culture, also to satisfy my own Parisian fantasy, I try to dress like a French student to class. (Forgive my craps, and I think I don't dress like a Parisian but I am just trying to convey my own French mood. Most importantly, is to enjoy the dressing up! )

Last week, as usual, I tried to dress up to French class even though I was feeling ill. 

(I realised that my face looked really sick in the photos. Hhmph... )

Please forgive the stupid expression, I was literally snapped shot. I was really sick that day.  

I decided to go for a casual vintage look. 

Actually the headband is a gift from my man's sister, she told me that she was trying to finish her money left in her bank account in UK because it will be expired soon, so she went spending all the money - which is £17 -- in ASOS online. Well, I am quite amazed by how wisely she could spend the £17 when I saw the parcel came. The parcel includes one hat, two headbands and a pair of ear-rings. For me, there is a lot of stuffs with only £17! 

Well, the skirt is also a gift from her. I think this blog is basically a thank-you note for her.  

She bought the skirt randomly with an inexpensive price. She told me that she couldn't resist buying it even though she knows that it might not fit her well because she found the fabric is quite good in quality and which could worth more than the price tag, which I agree! 

She tried it on when she got home but she thinks it looks too short on her and so she gave it to me, as she thinks it suits my vintage look (and I am much shorter than her so the length of the skirt suits me well), and yay! I thanked-her for the new skirt in my closet :)

The bag was the vintage bag I mentioned in one of my old post [here], finally I have a close-up-capture of it. It was bought in a very good price, inexpensive price; and I love that the length of the bag could be altered, I could carry it in several ways, that's the point I bought it! 

Done with the styling part, now back to the French class. As I said I started to take French in University but I didn't take it seriously, what a shame. I skipped classes (blame the winter! Although I love snow, but I just couldn't leave my warm bed in the early morning. Booo.. ), I don't dare to get my French exam result because I felt that I am writing nonsense and speaking nonsense during the oral session. So, now I am starting all over again from level 1. Great. However, the difference is, now I pay full attention during class as I know that I must grab the opportunity tight when it comes the second time! I gave up once, I can't repeat that stupid huge mistake again. 

Alright, off to class. Sorry for the long winded post.

Halo everyone! (If someone is reading tho')
This is my first ever snapshots post of my own outfit in this 'fashion blog'. I am a bit nervous and also was excited trying to act like expert blogger (errr.. I mean acting like), yes I have been dreaming to be an expert fashion blogger since the first time I read Tavi's blog (everyone knows Tavi right? Booo.. yea I'm still talking about Tavi, la di da), I am really inspired by her. Besides Audrey Hepburn, I think she would be the next person inspires me the most in my life; ok, I mean in my fashion life. 

So, here we go~ I was wearing my 50% off COS's black dress with the belt I bought from Zara during the sales too, finish up the look with white loafers. Sorry for the blurry pictures and the repeated poses, as I said, I am really a newbie in this. 

Anyway, this might seems to be under-dressed for a fashion blog I guess or this look doesn't show the breath of summer, but who cares. I love black, and I do think black and white is always the best and classic match. Don't we all love LBD? 

I added the this 'ribbon-ish' thingy on my hair so that it could add a little statement to my plain look. It is actually a small square scarf with chiffon x organza-ish fabric (I seriously don't know what kind of fabric is that but it is hard enough to stand as a bow); I do think scarf is a good accessories, and it's not only for the neck! 

Not to forget the vintage shoulder bag, I bought it in a really good price and I love it so much! It just simply goes with any kind of dress and look, especially vintage look. I hope I could capture a closer look of the bag next time. Again, I apologise for my experience-less fashion shooting.
